This Is The Best Letter I Have Ever Had From A Former Student

Dear Walter:

My girlfriend is pregnant. I have told her about you and my wishes to name our boy after you. We do not know the sex of the child yet (she is one month pregnant). She has shown resistance to our son being named Walter, she claims it sounds like “water” but I will continue trying to convince her. If it were up to me, our first boy would be named Walter Aristotle Rivera or Walter Paul Rivera.

Best regards,

L

Dear Walter:

My soon to be fiancé (Crismelis) has a doctor’s appointment next week (11th) the doctor will very likely know the baby’s sex. Her original intent was to have a gender reveal party but I am thinking she might cave and find out what the sex is and forget about that gender reveal mumbo jumbo. I spoke to her tonight and she has agreed to name our child if it’s a boy, “Aiden Walter Rivera!” I do not see her changing her mind leading up to the birth but the baby could end up being a girl. I will find out soon. She chose “Aiden” because she says it doesn’t sound bad if Walter is the middle name. I pled my case to her she gave in. Despite me not seeing you in a very long time, you have meant a lot to me in my life. Thank you for explaining the world to me, thank you for sticking up and believing in me, thank you for being the biggest role model of my life. I always admired your bravery, the logical ways you saw amd explained the world, your curiosity, everything. I’ll never ever forget you. Naming my son is proof of this. You are the greatest man I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Thank you for your friendship and everything that you taught me. You taught me economics, real history, biodiversity, political philosophy, how to make arguments and much more, how to write better. You are more like me than anyone, even in my own family and finding you, reassured me that it was not me who was wrong but statists, central planners, empiricists, blank slate theorists etc. Thank you for everything that you do and have done for me and for liberty and the truth.

Best regards,

L
