Jim, as LRC has predicted for years, the Commentary neocons jumped right on board with ZeroBama, using Gates as a pretext,of course.
Now it can be revealed — why, they have always been enthralled with “the quality of his mind, his manner and approach, and the discipline of his campaign. They believed that if he were elected President, he would act in a prudent, responsible, non-radical way.”
Only a former Bush speechwriter could write this smarmy treacle and expect it to be taken seriously. But it passes for expert analysis at Commentary. Apparently the editors there don’t mind serving as a convenient lifeboat for the neocon rats that jumped Bush’s sinking ship (which they sank, of course) who are now looking for another host to infect.
ZeroBama and these guys deserve one another. Together, they will finish destroying the country.
