CBS News proudly announced this afternoon that the Obama administration “strengthened sanctions against Russia to promote peace in the region,” referring to Ukraine. “Sanctions” are of course an act of war, not peace.
CBS then dutifully repeated the administration talking point that the administration has “increasing concern” about Russia’s foreign policy. This got me to thinking: How would anyone know if there is increased, decreased or the same concern about Russia or anything else? Is there a giant Concern-O-Meter in the White House press briefing room connected directly to Obama’s brain?
