The Reformation Project

In 2017 the world will commemorate the formal beginning of the Reformation five hundred years ago by the Augustinian monk Martin Luther. The Reformation destroyed the unity of Christendom and plunged Europe into deadly religious wars, mass famine, systematic looting of church and monastic properties, and peasant insurrections. According to Luther’s Protestant acolytes and scriptural descendants, the Reformation had many heroic precursors and antecedents which established the battleground upon which this theological battle took place. The Roman Catholic Church did not hold this view, and saw persons such the Lollards as heretics seeking to disrupt the apostolic authority and magisterium of the Church.

Today, unbeknownst to many Christians of whatever denomination, there is underway a new Reformation which is taking place, seeking to challenge and radically transform the most basic beliefs of Christians. As in the earlier Reformation, the reformers have the full assistance of civil authorities in imposing their discordant views upon the faithful. We recently saw evidence of this with the egregious Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage. If actions have consequences, what will be the future disastrous consequences of the present actions of state authorities, the mainstream secular media, and dedicated LBGT grass-roots zealots in furthering this Reformation agenda?
