I will be interviewed briefly tonight on The History Channel’s week-long show on “the presidents.” The subject, of course, is Lincoln. It’s during the 8 PM hour, EST (althogh sometimes the networks arrange things so that it shows at the same time in all time zones). I haven’t seen the show, but I’m expecting some kind of hatchet job, such as juxtaposing my comments next to a discussion of Lincoln’s assassination. But it’s been my experience that hatchet jobs sell a lot of books, especially when witnessed by hundreds of thousands of people.
