Hillary Clinton said of Libya and Gaddafi: “We came, we saw, he died.” There is a 12-second video of her saying it here. It’s a takeoff on Julius Caesar’s “Veni, vidi, vici,” or “I came, I saw, I conquered.” Do I really have to comment on what this means about her, her morality, or that of the highest U.S. government officials? Do I have to comment on the relation to Caesar that she draws? Is it necessary to point out that “We” is the U.S. government and that it takes responsibility for unseating Gaddafi and killing him?
