“Two men” stole “four nail guns, each worth over $400,” “walked out of the store and got into a Honda Civic.” That’s when“six customers with guns raised” “surrounded” them. One of our heroes stood
in front of the car, yelling at the alleged thieves to get out.
“He won’t shoot, run him over,” one of the suspects reportedly said.
The driver pulled forward, causing the man confronting him to land on the hood…
Another customer shot at the driver’s side front tire… A third fired twice at the rear tire.
Someone shot at the car one more time as it left the parking lot, records show.
This good work enabled the cops, who as usual arrived after the danger had passed, to catch the criminals.
But far from thanking the Super Six, “police Cmdr. Mark Thomas on Monday said it’s unclear” if they “fired their guns lawfully… ‘Anytime you’re firing a weapon in a public place, especially a few days before Christmas in a crowded parking lot, it is a grave concern,’ Thomas said.” This from a guy whose profession slaughters hundreds every year.
But we would expect such sour grapes, given that the Six proved yet again how entirely superfluous cops are. Manuel Miles, who sent me the story, was “equally impressed by the number of civilians who acted as well as by the fact that the cops want to harass them for merely doing their duty…”
Said harassers are “asking those who shot at the car to come forward and provide statements.” Why am I reminded of Herod urging the Wise Men to return and tell him where the Baby lay?
