There has been overwhelming support in Congress for “staying the course” in Iraq, primarily because the political establishment favors the war system upon which its’ powers ultimately depend. Even though a majority of Americans now appear to oppose the war, with many resenting the lies and deceit that produced this atrocity, there has been little serious talk of the impeachment of Bush.
