If there is anyone out there who still doubts the mind-numbing, propagandistic purposes of the major media, they need only turn to the cable news channels for evidence. Hurricane Wilma is now the anesthetic du jour, giving viewers a much-needed respite from those far more disturbing stories of missing spouses, teenagers, children, etc. As Wilma makes its way through the Caribbean, I half-expect a news story to tie together the storm with the girl missing in Aruba.
