The Barbaric Thieves and Sexual Assailants

Thievery is a hallmark of government, inherent, unalterable. Politicians and bureaucrats always steal their victims’ property, whether through inflation, taxation, or outright robbery (euphemized as “confiscation”), either for their own aggrandizement or to suborn the serfs lest they protest such immorality rather than plead for more. But there’s a special brand of dictatorship that destroys property instead of stealing it. These savages seem particularly incensed at art, culture, anything intellectual, sophisticated or refined.
