In my recent Mises Circle speech in Chicago (video below), I used some polling data to demonstrate that the Tea Party offers little hope for the cause of liberty. Now here’s a new sad fact: 70% of tea party supporters oppose cuts to Medicare to reduce the government’s budget deficit. So not only are they okay with forced wealth transfers (to themselves), they also aren’t even serious about fixing the deficit. Who and what will advance liberty? I offer some thoughts in the speech.
