Karen, you’re just not up-to-date on the Newthink terminology. When the bailout proponents keep speaking of it as a “taxpayer investment,” they are quite correct, except it is not an investment FOR the taxpayers, but an investment OF them. The taxpayers are but resources to be exploited for the benefit of the corporate-state owners. After all, haven’t we already learned to think of ourselves as “resources” (e.g., “human resource management” at work, “human resource development” in schools, etc.)?
