Maybe Syria was stupid enough to murder its Lebanese enemy in that spectacularly public fashion, or maybe others are involved. Regardless, it does not justify further US hostility against the one remaining secular Arab regime (that is also a refuge for Christians), especially now that it has guided Iraq to Islamic fundamentalism.
