Too bad that the NY Times will soon be charging for its op-eds. But I have a suggested compromise: just charge for Paul Krugman’s Keynesian columns, not his terrific antiwar ones. The same with Bob Herbert: keep his welfare writings; just give us the warfare essays. And you can have all David Brookes and the whole Safire archives in return for an occasional Maureen Dowd.
