The State Believes It Owns Even Cougars
Leviathan blatantly asserts its ownership over the serfs within its geographical boundaries. But it also astoundingly assumes Nature itself belongs to the State. How else to explain the last sentences in this story about a “suspected cougar, or mountain lion” that “has been photographed in southern Minnesota“?– In 2011, a man shot and killed one that was on private property near horses. However, cougars are protected in Minnesota, and killing one is only justified if one is facing imminent harm.
