In addition to the usual pro-abortion libertarians who complain if I even mention the word abortion, I received an unusual response to my article that was published today, “Do Libertarians Believe that Nothing Should Be Illegal?” A “sovereign being” who lives by two axioms (private property and contracts) concludes: “So not only is the abortion nobody’s business, infanticide is nobody’s business either, unless a prior contract exists.” As someone who believes in private property and contracts, I deeply resent this conclusion, and find it monstrous. It is an insult to all believers in private property and contracts. I am glad that he at least says he is not a libertarian.
