A reader says went to his local Wal-Mart last night and was confronted with soldiers in uniform asking for donations for “military families.” Well, if soldiers would quit going overseas to fight senseless foreign wars perhaps their families would be in better shape.
Oh, he didn’t give them a dime.
Update: A veteran tells me that these were probably not actual soldiers. Just people dressed up in what looks enough like a current military uniform to sucker people. He doubts that anyone who donated money noticed, since Americans go crazy over soldiers in uniform. He also points out that there have been many scams where groups get money from gullible Americans because they say the money will help veterans when it really just lines their pockets.
