Law without enforcement includes law with supposed enforcement that people think is there but isn’t.
It’s one thing calmly to point out that government is always inefficient and to cite instance after instance. It’s entirely different actually to see the incredible failure of the FBI in the case of Nikolas Cruz. The FBI received a warning call in January that was very specific and explicit that’s reported here. (Also here.)
The transcript and audio were released yesterday. Read them and weep. 17 innocent lives were lost and 14 people hospitalized as a consequence of FBI negligence. The perpetrators should be sued for damages in all these wrongful death and injury cases. They should lose their jobs, and all those up the chain of command who are responsible for such shocking on-the-job failure. The alt.-left and their sympathetic celebrities should be demonstrating, not against guns, but against the FBI:
“CBS News has learned five and a half weeks before [Parkland] shooting, a woman called an FBI tip line, concerned Nikolas Cruz would ‘get into a school and just shoot the place up.’ She said he had a diminished mental capacity, and gave an ominous warning.”
Now we have not only that cowardly deputies dallied outside the school but also total FBI criminal incompetence in this matter.
The FBI didn’t protect against 9/11. Their negligence helped bring it about as did that of the CIA.
Ironically, the FBI refused to deem Hillary Clinton “grossly negligent” or even “negligent” in her handling of her e-mails. They should be made to know what the word negligence means and be punished for their own criminal behavior. There needs to be a lot of publicity about longstanding misbehavior and crimes of the FBI, right up to and including its anti-Trump posture. The Parkland case should be the catalyst for breaking up this agency. If any part of it retains some usefulness and integrity, it will find sponsors and defenders, but the thrust should be the merciless destruction of this organization that has kept presidents and members of Congress intimidated. There is no place for such an organization in what purports to be the government of a free people.
