Of course, the government has no primordial right to our money at all. Nonetheless, the deduction issue would evaporate if we followed the advice of my old boss (and apparently Herman Cain gets his best lines from LRC): “The Good Book says the Lord gets ten percent, and the government shouldn’t get a penny more.”
