By the Left, to discourage and dismay Trump’s core supporters?
OK.It’s a fact: Trump cordially met with Romney, his loser-predecessor on the GOP presidential ticket in 2012. Romney had been vile in his criticism of Trump, but Trump extended a friendly hand after his victory.
And this is what he gets:
Suddenly the Usual Suspects announce that Romney will be Trump’s SecState!
Now, as Mr. Justice Goldberg once put it, this is a “gross canard, cut out of whole cloth.”
But wait – but wait!! It must be true, because the Russians are afraid it is!
And Hillary was afraid of the Russians, right? Well! That makes it a slam dunk!
This morning, Trump’s very able and history-making campaign manager acknowledges that it isn’t the Russians who are afraid – it’s Trump’s supporters! Thousands of them, and they’re mad as Hell!
Let’s face it: the Left and their neocon subset want chaos and dismay to prevail at home, and world war abroad.
They want to Make War Great Again.
Moreover, HillObama, Romney, McCain, and more than half of the 2016 GOP presidential primary field wanted to get “tough” with Russia – via a war in Syria, Georgia, Ukraine – take your pick.
“Let’s have a no-fly zone over Syria,” goes the latest war cry. Well, as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs told the Senate, that means we’re in a hot war with Russia (while ISIS takes over the Middle East).
In 2012 Mitt surrounded himself with neocons. They want war, and so do a lot of Mitt’s former supporters (ahem – you know, the “decadent establishment” that Trump ran against).
They are always wrong. And they never, ever apologize.
