Ross Anderson, RIP

Ross Anderson—who died at age 83 on January 22, 2011—was a great entrepreneur, a great libertarian, and a great man. The founder of the Anderson Pallet Company, he had earlier worked for and remained close to another businessman of the same sort, the late Robert Love of the Love Box Company, founder of Wichita Collegiate School. Ross was also a close associate of Robert LeFevre, the great anarcho-capitalist, and Ross’s generosity and hard work over a number of years made it possible for the Mises Institute to have the LeFevre library and archives from the Freedom School and Rampart College. Ross’s health had been bad for a very long time, but it did not stop him from being active in the libertarian movement, the Ron Paul campaign, or his church. I loved his emails, and our visits. He was always full of new and wonderful ideas. Ross’s motto, adopted early and lived throughout his life, was “earn all you can, save all you can, give all you can.” He was one of the good people, God rest his great soul.
