Writes Ian Woofenden: “In some of the circles I run in, ‘Republican’ tends to be a dirty word. So I’ve been glad to see a new category of Republicans being talked about — ‘Ron Paul Republicans.’
“This month I’m traveling and working in Central America. Though I don’t usually experience overt anger towards Americans here, I do get some negative feedback, and feel some embarrassment about our country and its foreign policy.
“Because of this, it usually wouldn’t be my choice to display an American flag while traveling here. In fact, I might get better reception showing a Canadian flag.
“But this trip, I have U.S. flag patches on my computer pack and guitar case, with ‘Ron Paul’ in blue across the red and white stripes. I realize that I have no embarrassment about being a ‘Ron Paul American’…”
