There is a new book that has just been published, that might be of interest to many libertarians. It is written by long time libertarian Wisniewski, Jakub Bozydar. 2015. The Pith of Life: Aphorisms in Honor of Liberty. Published by CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, it is available on Amazon. The book is organized into six sections: Entrepreneurship, Business, Economics, and Politics; Liberty, Authority, and Power; Money, Greed, Equality, Envy, and Charity; Comfort, Distress, Happiness, and Trouble; Aesthetics, Culture, and Taste; and Knowledge, Expectations, Order, and Chaos and consists solely, as the title suggests of aphorisms that a libertarian will appreciate. Let me offer just a few examples, from the first section:
A bad economist believes that he knows what to do to make the world prosperous. A
good economist believes that he knows what to do to let the world make itself
A bad economist believes that pay can be legislated. A good economist believes that
legislation can be paid for.
A bad economist believes that prices should be policed by the state. A good economist
believes that police should be priced by the market.
A businessman calls himself boss, but his goal is to serve others. A politician calls
himself servant, but his goal is to boss others.
If aphorisms are your thing, you MUST get this book. Even if they are not, I still highly recommend this book. Just a peek a day will keep up your spirits.10:11 pm on August 12, 2015
