Anti-war.com’s headline today from CNN suggests that Frank Rich was exactly right in his prediction that even I found implausibly cynical at the time: the much-vaunted Iraqi election was just a passing distraction that had no impact at all on the reality of occupation, resistance, bloodshed, death, and chaos all around in Iraq.
