Lew and Tom made great points upon which I could not improve. I will only add the comment of a late and very dear friend of mine – James J. Martin – who was also reviled as a revisionist historian: “history is lies that have been agreed upon.” Since the state depends on all sorts of lies (didn’t our present leader tell one or two?) revisionists are a threat to the political structure.
