Thanks to Anthony and Stephen for the interesting posts on the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights is a mixed bag at best, since it does occasionally serve as a (weak) restraint on Leviathan while justifying the notion that the government can do anything not explicitly forbidden to it. On balance, I am glad we have a Bill of Rights because otherwise Lincoln, Wilson, the two Roosevelts, Bush I and II, etc. would have forced us to quarter troops!
