Butler, I totally concur with everything you said about the incomparable Mickey Rooney. Above is the little known film noir, Quicksand, starring Rooney and Peter Lorre in a story about an amoral garage mechanic’s spiraling descent into crime. Many persons (myself included) consider it Mickey Rooney’s defining performance. Forget Andy Hardy, this is Rooney’s best work.
