Jay Stephenson is not the only one to notice that Drudge (“43” to some), who has all of a sudden become a NeverTrumper, has long been promoting war with Iran (scroll down to the next-to-last paragraph in the linked article).  I would not assign a zero probability to the proposition that this is why he has become such a Trump critic.
