Tom is exactly right. Ludwig Lachmann is another example of an Austrian economist who made very important technical contributions (to capital theory and the theory of the firm) as well as the later, more controversial, methodological writings that get a lot of attention today. One can certainly question the latter while praising the former! Oh, and BTW, the Hayek character in the original Roberts-Papola rap does refer explicitly to “my Austrian perspective.”
