Becky, while I applaud the gun owners in New York for their stand, nonetheless what WILL happen is that the authorities will come full-force for a few that are found out, and that will mean SWAT teams (armed with assault weapons, of course) and helicopter gunships.

Do not be surprised if they just open fire (claiming the need for “officer safety” and the perception by officers that “they were in danger”) and kill a lot of people. The governor and the NY Times will endorse what happened and the dead will be made an example to others. Those who live will go to prison for the rest of their lives. That is the reality that people face.

Over the next few years, you are going to see so-called civil libertarians endorse actions by authorities that at one time would have been unthinkable in this country. I predict that we are seeing only the beginning of the State-sponsored brutality that is to come.
