I agree that the list is bogus, but what’s more disturbing is that in the writer’s judgment apparently all it takes to be marked as a “man of culture” is to have some jazz musicians in your iPod. With those tastes, real or not, let’s be extra hopeful that Obama doesn’t take up a suggestion by Quincy Jones (whose greatest composition is the theme from Sanford and Son) to create — God help us — a “Department of Culture.”
