Regarding Lew’s question about the “conservative” military,I’ve had quite a few emails over the past couple of years from current and former military people, inlcuding military academy graduates, who have told me of how thoroughly brainwashed in statism just about everyone in the military is. There are exceptions — like the better educated types who have been writing me. But as Lew says, the whole culture is socialistic to the extreme. And extremely unnatural, contrary to V.D. Tom, isn’t funny that conservative propaganda has managed to paint the military as conservative in the good sense? In fact, it is socialist in an almost North Korean way, with everyone forced to follow orders, wear the same suit, have the same haircut, sleep in the same room, eat in the same room, shower and go to the bathroom in the same room, etc. all to stamp out individuality.
