Thanks Bob and Chris for your exchange on the nature of evil. As I have commented on before I believe the greatest evil arises from the combination of power, a utopian vision, and a failure to see one’s fellow humans as one’s moral equals–instead viewing them as lesser beings standing in the way of achieving the leader’s vision of earthly paradise, and who thus must be eliminated or dominated.
