The extreme opposition to Ron Paul by South Carolina protestants is no surprise at all to me. These people have been “reconstructed” so many times over the past 140 year that they have embraced the Unitarian superstitions of their conquerers, the 19th century New England Yankees. As you may recall, after slaughtering 350,000 of their fellow citizens (including 50,000 innocent civilians, mostly women and children, according to James McPherson), they happily referred to it in song as “The Glory of the Coming of the Lord.” I was forced to sing this song nearly every morning in elementary school in Pennsylvania, where I grew up, as part of the state school monopoly’s child indoctrination program.
