Lew, a more effective means to encouraging more breastfeeding would be to stop the inflationary policies of the Fed that decrease our standard of living. How many mothers of newborns work full-time because they “have to” to make ends meet? I’d argue: more than you think. Mrs. Obama wants to make it easier for women to choose to nurse, but a better choice would be to be able to afford to work less during child-bearing years. But that choice is becoming more and more an option of only the wealthy, thanks to our monetary policy.
