*John McCain is trying to buy votes in Florida by promising that the federal government will subsidize insurance there. So much for the straight talk express.
*Barack Obama, the flavor of the moment, has an incredibly statist platform, promising to make government more powerful and more expensive across the board.
*The media is spreading the canard that the Clinton’s have introduced race into the campaign and into politics. Yet, race has always been a huge part of democratic politics and in fact is an inherent part of it as I explained here. And the media tells us that the vote in South Carolina is a rejection of racism in politics when that is patently false. Obama won because he won the black vote, period.
*Move over list of biggest lies of all time. We need room for “Mitt Romney is an economic genius.” I’m not an economist but I play one on the web. First, he came out for economic fascism in Michigan. Call it corporatism if you prefer. Then, he endorsed the stimulus package. But the money for the stimulus package is being borrowed obviously. If the government borrows from itself that worsens inflation. If the government borrows from the private sector, that crowds out private investment by jacking up interest rates.
