Purpose of Forever Wars

Having defined the concept of a forever war and recognized several of them, directed at both foreign and domestic spheres, I come next to the question of what their purpose or purposes are.

Each forever war is a racket, an illegal scheme for gain. The gain takes on such forms as money, security of position, promotion, glory and power. The illegality is not by reference to state-made law, because forever wars are state-made and by definition state-made laws are legal. Their illegality is by reference to that which is right, just, fair and good under natural law or some such equivalent criteria that are understood by all human beings from an early age, maybe because the ideas are inborn in some form.

The goal set by a forever war cannot be attained. Therefore, a forever war allows the state’s net tax consumers to absorb money from the net tax payers indefinitely.

The War on Drugs cannot be won. Either theory or the experience of alcohol prohibition teaches the futility of a drug war. Therefore, its purpose cannot really be to stamp out drug use as its supporters claim. The beneficiaries of the War on Drug are discussed here.

Similarly, if there is a War on Carbon, under the name of a Green New Deal, the real purpose won’t be to stop or slow down global warming. The real purpose is far more diabolical, which is for socialists to gain control over the country.

A forever war that cannot be won, one that absorbs resources continually, thereby undermining economic progress, seems to make no sense. But every such war does make sense. Every forever war has a set of beneficiaries. The purpose of every forever war is to benefit these specific groups. Successful forever wars are the rackets that bilk taxpayers on and on and on, without ever ending.
