Prosecutors Lied During the Casey Anthony Trial? I’m Shocked, SHOCKED!

The “not guilty” verdict in the Casey Anthony trial certainly has exposed the innards of what I call Nasty Nancy Nation, but apparently it also exposed what seems to be a regular occurrence in this country: prosecutors lying about evidence. One of the prosecution’s supposed “smoking guns” was the “fact” that Anthony visited a science site 84 times looking for information on chloroform.

It turns out that the “84 searches” was not true, and a software designer who developed the program police used to search Anthony’s computer, told police that there was a problem with the software. He also notified prosecutors of the problem and that his finding was that Anthony visited the site once. I know that LRC readers will be shocked to read this, but prosecutors simply ignored what the expert said and lied to jurors. Will there be any sanctions placed on prosecutors for lying and hiding information? Right. As I have said before, if one wishes to be able to live a life in which lawbreaking is a central part, become a prosecutor, as this is a profession in which honesty was abandoned long ago.
