Prohibition and The Fall of the Russian Empire
In 1914, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia proclaimed the country dry, in a move reflective of a new era of warfare. Despite the hopes of tsarist Russia, prohibition there ended even worse than it did in the United States. This historical information is absolutely fascinating, a significant factor I had never considered. Deserves much more research and analysis.
