New York State’s tax-form asks if I want to “Return a Gift to Wildlife.” I wasn’t aware that “Wildlife” had given me anything, unless you count the willies every time I see another rat waddling down the street here in Manhattan (intriguingly, politicians have the same effect on me). But heck, yes, now that you mention it, I’d very much like to give those hungry lions, tigers, and bears in the state parks a present: all the bureaucrats and politicians they can possibly eat.
