The World Trade Organization has ordered Utah to change its laws regulating Internet gambling. Now I am no fan of laws restricting people’s right to gamble, but what does it mean for federalism and republican government when a group of international bureaucrats can tell the states to change their laws to conform with international rules? And what does any of this have to do with free trade? Fortunately, Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders are leading an effort to get the US out of the WTO this year.
