Dear N: I think the key to your argument is “20 years old.” It would be much less powerful if the person was 30, long past the initial age of maturity.
What we have here is a continuum problem. Here’s my attempt to wrestle with this:

In my view, once a person of mature years, 21? 25? 30? signs a contract, that’s it. I don’t care how old he gets, he’s still bound, as I see matters. The only question is, What’s the age of maturity, for such an important contract?
