I have seen churches advertising patriotic services tomorrow. No doubt this will include songs of worship, not to Jesus Christ, but to the state. Please write me with any particularly egregious displays of military or state worship on one of the worst days to attend church—the Sunday before the Fourth of July. How unfortunate this is. I don’t remember it being this bad 25–30 years ago. It seems like the more evil the government and the military does, the more they are praised in some churches. Seems backward to me.
