This summary of Ron Paul’s difficulties in attracting more voter attention than he has is excellent; one of the best yet! I find Jim’s explanations “Sixth” and “Ninth” to be at the core of the problem. I would add – re his comments on the war on drugs – that this war will end only if the pharmaceutical companies – who represent a state-power-enhancing “special interest” nearly as pervasive as the military-industrial complex – can concoct a way to legally monopolize the supply of heroin, marijuana, cocaine, etc. Should that ever occur, you would soon see television commercials extolling the virtues of such drugs. (“Ask your doctor if heroin is for you.”)
