Why is it that the gluttons for power who are constantly preaching their dogmas of “sacrifice” are never willing to apply it to themselves? When I see the statists “sacrificing” their pet taxpayer-funded programs and projects; making massive reductions in government spending; cutting back on wars; and firing tens of thousands of bureaucratic slugs – as private firms must do – then, perhaps, we can believe in some semblance of sincerity on their parts. They might begin by sacrificing the Federal Reserve for the common good!!
