NPR reporter Phillip Reeves spent a day with US sojers in Iraq and gives us this (audio file), an account of Americans who think they’re doing good but are really spending their time humiliating and bullying Iraqis. The stuff about tearing the newspapers, and the reaction of the Americans, up is most telling. And that is why I cannot “support the toops.” If someone treated me the way these sojers treat Iraqis, the way they speak to them, I’d be angry too. Very, very angry.
