Two-thirds of the signs at Occupy Santa Barbara last weekend were pro-peace. Unfortunately, there were only 3 protestors! I was so impressed that Obama was being recognized as a warmonger, that I snapped this photo:
(The sign in the middle said, “OBAMA — STOP THE KILLING!” on the front and something like “OUT OF AFGHANIRAQ NOW” on the back.)
My pleasure at this sight was soon deflated when a companion told me that about four years ago (that is, under a Republican POTUS), similar demonstrations on State Street in Santa Barbara were directed against the war (instead of partially promoting class warfare, like the sign on the right) and drew about twenty or so protestors.
