The great athlete Barry Bonds, who has given so much pleasure to so many people, has been convicted of “obstructing justice” for allegedly not telling the truth to a grand jury about his alleged use of medicines to make him a better baseball player. The grand jury is itself a weapon of tyranny, and entirely illegitimate, even by the standards of a limited government. Barry faces 10 years in a cage, but may be sentenced to jail in his own home, for a non-crime about a non-crime. Thanks a lot, judge. (And real thanks to Travis Holte)
