Nothing Small About These Small Businesses’ Spirit!

Several brave restaurateurs in Michigan have defied Leviathan’s unconstitutional ban on dining inside their establishments—real estate on which they no doubt still pay taxes. Sooooo typical, that government orders businesses to suspend part or all of their operations but expects its cut nonetheless. Even the Mafia isn’t that stupid and greedy.

One patriot,

Big Boy of Sandusky[,] received a $5,000 citation. That restaurant vows to stay open for dine-in though it will be dropping its affiliation with the Big Boy brand as a result. (The parent company denounced the stance and is threatening legal action against what it calls a “rogue franchisee.”)

Of course: what else would we expect from the  “parent company”? Corporations march in lockstep with Our Rulers. Kudos to the local owner for his bold attitude regardless!

Grab a barf-bag, because we will next listen to “Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel”—a Demonrat and lesbian; why am I not surprised?—blaming the restaurants for her persecution of them:

“Although none of us wants to take such actions, the deliberate and blatant defiance of the state emergency public health orders by these owners put their businesses at risk … While we are heartbroken at the toll these closures invariably have on the businesses affected, first and foremost the state has an obligation to protect the lives of our residents.”

Does it? I’m no expert on Michigan’s constitution, but I’ll bet it never cedes such nincompoops as Dana unlimited power.

Thanks to James Nellis for this story and to Andy for the next:

You’ll recall the courageous entrepreneurs in New York State who “confront[ed] … a health department official and Erie County sheriffs on Friday [while] holding an after-hours protest in his closed gym with other business owners. The confrontation … ended with the government officials being ushered off the gym owner’s property.” No shock that the State took its vengeance on “Robby Dinero, owner of Orchard Park’s Athletes Unleashed gym” by fining him $15,000.

Our hero merely shrugged: he “challenged the New York officials to look their constituents’ children in the eyes and tell them their parents’ work is not ‘essential.’” Then, while on the air with Fox News, “the businessman took the $15,000 fine and ripped it up, as supporters gathered behind him chanted ‘We will not comply’ and waved American flags.”

Patriots have started a “GoFundMe” “to cover the cost of his ridiculous fine orchestrated by an over-zealous Health Department controlled by Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz.”  But why allow this execrable bureaucrat to profit from his depredations? Use the donations to outfit militia and guard the gym as Mr. Dinero exercises his God-given, inalienable right to earn a living.
