Nomination races tighten

The Republican contest has narrowed down to McCain and Giuliani running neck and neck. Romney has taken a big, big dive. Thompson is still out of it. Huckabee’s moment of glory is over, and he’s dropping. Paul remains a long shot.

The Democrat contest always had only two figures: Clinton and Obama. Of interest there is that Clinton’s big lead has evaporated. Obama is now higher than she is! They are running neck and neck.

As for the Presidential election, the Democrats still hold the edge over the Republicans. With the economy showing signs of going into a more serious decline, that edge may grow.
